Embattled Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has made headlines again. It was just last week when this Chris Farley look-alike finally publicly admitted to smoking crack cocaine.
It was a bold move on his part, since the entire incident was caught on VIDEO! That particular video has not been made public, but Huffington Post has put together a hilarious remix of the whole situation. Ford’s explanation? He said that he not responsible, because he was drunk.
In a story in Toronto’s National Post, Mayor Ford went right to the crux of the matter:
“…Am I an addict? No. Have I tried it? Probably in one of my drunken stupors. Probably approximately about a year ago. I answered your question. You ask the question properly, I’ll answer it.”
Ford later said his soulful confession was one of the hardest things he ever had to do, and one of the most embarrassing. After today, I’m thinking he might want to rethink that last part.
USA Today, has released a piece with yet another video of Mayor Ford. Again, this one was taken covertly and is grainy and hard to follow. What isn’t hard to follow though, is the actions of a very drunk man, flailing around a private home, threatening an unnamed person, with murder.
In their story, USA Today quotes portions of the actual video:
“The 44-year-old mayor of Canada’s largest city is shown enraged, gesticulating as he stumbles around the room.
“I’m gonna kill that (expletive) guy. I’m telling you, it’s first-degree murder,” the visibly agitated mayor shouts.”
His Honor’s explanation for this video? “I was extremely, extremely inebriated.” Ya Think??
Rob Ford now has the dubious distinction of being the only elected official in Canada, who is actually stupider than the average TEA party member. If Ford were just another citizen, I would say he needs serious medical and psychiatric help. But he’s not average in any sense of the word. Rob Ford is an elected leader of one of the largest and most respected cities in the Great Nation of Canada. He’s also a buffoon, an alcoholic, and a drug abuser, and he needs to step down…today.
